I have been completely smitten with Kellie and Dario from the moment I first saw them. When I first arrived at the place we had arranged to meet to talk about their wedding I got our of my car just in time to see this adorably cute couple crossing the street. I secretly hoped right then and there that they were the couple I was there to meet. Little couple I have known at that time just how blessed I would be to get to be a part of their lives. Their wedding was such a beautiful and true reflection of their love and who they are, with vintage elements, a group of insanely special family and friends, some killer tunes to get down to at the reception and a whole load of style.

Despite the fact that it’s autumn here now the summer weather is still with us, which is all too perfect for sharing this gorgeous summer beloved session I shot back in January. Daniela and Hannes contacted me not long after their wedding, which took place in the country they call home, Austria, to ask if I would capture them during their honeymoon here in Australia. On the day we were able to spend time doing all the things they love most about our gorgeous country, including hanging out in trendy cafes in Newtown and soaking in some sun. After drinks in Newtown we set out for the adorable Hornby Lighthouse on South Head with a delicious picnic in hand from none other than the incredible Sydney Picnic Co.

After a rest and a few yummy nibbles from the picnic basket Daniela and Hannes changed into their wedding outfits and we ran around capturing their romantic honeymoon vibe until the sun set. They were flying out the very next day and I was beyond thrilled to capture such incredibly important memories for them to hold onto forever. Every time I do this it is as much a gift for me as it is for the beautiful souls in front of my camera.

Four. My favourite number and also the number of times we had to postpone Louise and Wesley’s Cockatoo Island beloved engagement session due to adverse weather. One time we even made it all the way there and then the rain just would not let up. We had a great round trip ferry ride that day instead. On a wedding day you roll with whatever the day gives you, which is always a fun and memorable experience for sure, but this is yet another reason I adore beloved sessions. If you have the chance to wait for the perfect conditions, I say let’s wait and make it as beautiful as it can be.

The upside to all of this is that I got to spend so much extra time with this gorgeous couple and hear even more about all the wonderful things they are planning for their wedding, which is taking place in the Hunter Valley in just 2 weeks time. Plus I knew that the wait for the perfect day would be totally worth it, which it was. We still had rain, but we had gorgeous sunlight as well, so in the end it really was the best of both worlds.
